I din't think there was anything in that documentary last night, it wasn't proven that the girl was with CB on the 3rd of May, it just proved she was in Portugal at the time. What sickened me was the disclosure of photo's of abuse taken in that building, were there others with him? How did he get the children there? :s_sad
That was certainly a scary and sick scenario.

No case that I have ever covered attracts more angry, opinionated responses from people than that of #MadeleineMccann . Mainly people who have a view from what they want to believe , have heard or read & assert it as fact, or simply have an agenda (normally the MCCann haters)

The British police have concerns about the German prosecutors continued media appearances & statements. Time for German prosecutor after 3 years of investigation & asserting that Christian B killed #MadeleineMccann to charge him or admit they juts don’t have the evidence.

How ironic of him to say that when he has this week covered HCW in the media and interviewed him!

I am pretty certain that MWT approached HCW for an interview and not the other way round.

The public prosecutors’ office in Braunschweig also told the programme that not all the evidence they had was public knowledge.
The most significant sentence of the article, for me.

Mark Williams Thomas cannot reach definitive conclusions if he doesn't have all the facts.

Appalling police blunders had prevented him from potentially already being behind bars before the McCanns, from Rothley, Leics, arrived in Portugal 15 years ago.

Five days after the sickening indecent exposure, a police captain dismissed pursuing the suspect.

In his report, which we have exclusively obtained, he writes: “As there is nothing more to report and there is no possibility of carrying out any due diligence at the moment, the enquiry is closed.” Had they pursued the evidence, police would have discovered B, then 30, almost perfectly matched the description.
strange.

Police close to charging Madeleine McCann No.1 suspect Christian B with s-e-x crimes
Prosecutors handed files to Christian Brueckner's lawyer - the final step under German law before charges are brought. They do not include any evidence relating to Madeleine McCann's disappearance

Prosecutors have moved a step closer to charging Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner with new s-e-x crimes.

They have handed their files to Brueckner’s lawyer, the final step under German law before charges are brought.

The paperwork includes evidence allegedly linking him to the rape of an Irish tour rep and indecent exposures.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters told the Mirror the files were handed to Brueckner’s lawyer Friedrich Fulscher earlier this week. They do not include any evidence relating to Madeleine’s disappearance from her parents’ holiday flat in Praia da Luz in 2007.

Mr Wolters previously said investigators are sure Brueckner, 45, who lived in the resort, abducted the three-year-old.

Hazel Behan says she was raped in Praia de Rocha in June 2004.

She has waived her right to anonymity and said her masked attacker spoke English with a German accent.

The ordeal she described was similar to the rape Brueckner carried out on a pensioner in Praia da Luz in 2005, for which he is still in prison.

Files handed to Mr Fulscher also include evidence allegedly linking Brueckner to two indecent exposures to children in Portugal. Mr Wolters said: “The defence attorney must be given a reasonable amount of time to work through the files and to discuss them with his client.

“In view of the quite extensive files... Mr Fulscher will need a few weeks.”

Mr Fulscher now has a right of reply before any charges are filed.

Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry, of Rothley, Leics, say they hold out hope their daughter is still alive.

Suspect in Maddie case remains in custody
06/02/2022, 09:25

BRUNSWICK. Christian B. had applied for release and complained to the Higher Regional Court. He remains behind bars.

The suspect in the Maddie case remains in custody following a decision by the Oldenburg Higher Regional Court . The prisoner had complained about a corresponding decision by the Oldenburg Regional Court , which the Higher Regional Court has now rejected, as the Oldenburg “Nordwest-Zeitung” (Thursday) reported. The 45-year-old is currently serving several years in prison for the rape of a 72-year-old American woman in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2005. Around a year and a half after this crime, then three-year-old Madeleine McCann disappeared from a nearby apartment complex.

According to the report, under certain conditions , convicts can leave the prison early - on probation - if they have served half of the sentence imposed. This time had come, so the prisoner had filed an application with the district court .

There is one, solitary, point of alignment in thinking between us on this board and the mob at Havern's.

We would both love that Brueckner had nothing whatever to do with Madeleine's disappearance.

But our respective reasons for wishing that could scarcely be more different.

We, here, would love that Madeleine should be found, alive and well, to be reunited with her parents, siblings and extended family.

The mob at Haverns want Kate and Gerry languishing in an English/Portuguese prison (I don't suppose they, much, care which) for the crimes of (seemingly) Brueckner against Madeleine.

And would be happy to see Brueckner free to re-offend.

Whatever the strength of the case against Brueckner, there is a case against him.

There simply isn't against Kate and Gerry.

Christian B. isn't just the top suspect in the Maddie case. In another case, he is now being targeted by the investigators. According to "Bild", the public prosecutor's office in Braunschweig is considering accusing Christian B. of raping Hazel B.

Hazel B. was brutally raped at her hotel in Portugal in 2004. The perpetrator filmed the act and disappeared. Since then, a search has been made for him, but Hazel claims to have recognized him – as Christian B. The act has frightening parallels to the rape of Diane M. Christian B. raped her in 2005 in Portugal. He has been in prison since 2019.

Maddie McCann suspect faces new charges – but one detail is striking
But Christian B. could acquit one detail in this case. Hazel B. testified at the time that the perpetrator had a prominent, cross-shaped scar on his right thigh. This was also mentioned in a Portuguese police report.

But: According to "Bild", Christian B. has no scar at all at this point. If that were to be determined in an official investigation, Christian B. would be exonerated. (ts)

Scars tend to be a permanent feature. Over time, they fade, but don't disappear entirely.

Thanks Sal.

He should be very careful:

"What is illegal is what German law refers to as "hurting someone's honor" — in this sense meaning somebody's worth — or hurting someone's reputation through verbal abuse. Violating this principle constitutes slander.

Given the millions of lives lost under the Nazi regime either through systematic extermination or war, not to mention other unspeakable horrors committed in the name of Adolf Hitler, comparisons to the Third Reich are simply no ordinary insults.

"You could call it overly sensitive," said Heinrich. "But in Germany most people don't want to be put into that category. Those were terrible things that happened and people don't want to be compared to that."

About a month ago there was an article in the Olive Press which, unfortunately, I can't copy and paste from stating that the Germans need to invoke a (retrospective) "extradition" procedure with Italy, where Brueckner was last free, before they can press charges against Brueckner in respect of 5 matters, none connected with Madeleine. According to John Clarke, that should all be wrapped up towards the end of Summer, and that charges against Brueckner for crimes against Madeleine should follow soon thereafter.

Apparently, the Italians are being entirely cooperative in the matter, while Brueckner's lawyer is striving for every legal loophole to try to block it.

His job (I suppose).

GERMAN police have to get permission in Italy before charging Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner, the Olive Press has learnt.

The bureaucratic procedure came as they asked the Portuguese police to make Breuckner, 44, an official suspect – a legal term known as an ‘arguido’ in Portugal.

BKA prosecutors in Braunschweig have also informed the German suspect’s lawyer of the process to prosecute him for the disappearance of the British three-year-old, while on holiday in Praia da Luz, on the Algarve in 2007.

They are expecting to formally charge him in the summer, alongside three other cases, the Olive Press can reveal.

This includes the violent rape of Irish 20-year-old Hazel Behan and two other charges of child molestation, one on a beach just a month before Maddie went missing on May 3, 2007.

But before they can issue any charges they need to re-issue official extradition papers from Italy, where he was last arrested in September 2018.

His arrest in Milan came after a paperwork problem had seen him released from prison in Germany while awaiting to serve a sentence for child molesting in 2016.

They had arrested him after he had arrived from Switzerland by train asking to get a new passport at the German consulate.

Fortunately, he was caught and brought back to Germany, where he was tried and found guilty of raping an American pensioner, also in Praia da Luz, in 2005.

“It is a bureaucratic nightmare and a slow and laborious process,” a German BKA source told the Olive Press on Friday morning.

“But thankfully the paperwork process has begun and the details of the case have been sent to his lawyer.”

He added: “It is a complicated procedure as due to EU rules they have to go via Italy, which was the last place he was a free man.

“They know if they don’t do it the correct way his lawyer will create more problems and slow things up as he has before. He would definitely play the Italy card.

“They are in the hands of the Italian police now, but are not expecting there to be a problem.”

His lawyer Friedrich Fulscher confirmed he was aware of the legal moves this week.

However, he described it as a ‘procedural trick’ and poured cold water on the moves, insisting his client, currently in Oldenburg prison, had not been charged.

The main reason to make him an official suspect in Portugal is because from next month the statute of limitations of 15 years for murder cases there comes to an end.

The BKA source added: “It is merely a procedural issue at this stage and doesn’t have much meaning. We are not expecting him to be charged until August. And it will be in Germany.

“There is no way that despite making him a suspect in Portugal he will be handed over to the police there. He is a German suspect and in a German prison. He will be tried here.”

I only trust in the words of OP Grange, trust only in the words of the couple McCann through their official website or through their statements.

until I heard something credible from the OP Grange or from the couple McCann, Madeleine can still be found alive.
