"Black Friday"?

I'd never heard of it before now.

Not sure I want to hear of it again ...

Do you have off today? I mean, it's a disgrace regardless but here it started originally because yesterday was Thanksgiving and many people have off the next day.

No we don't :s_no :s_smile

I just overheard a woman in a restaurant saying the teachers at her child's school had declared today a teacher training day so that they could go to the Black Friday sales.

It's all a bit new and strange and over the top :s_biggrin

I think it's disgraceful and unfortunately yet more proof of our total subservience to the consumer mentality.

When police officers have to take to twitter to remind people that pushing someone to the ground so you can get £20 off a coffee machine is an assault, the world really has gone to hell in a handcart.
Scotland Yard detectives believe Madeleine was abducted in "a criminal act by a stranger"

No Janine you poor deluded muppet, I am NOT John Lowe.
And neither, thankfully, are you.

I had, but only in terms of negative and often tragic events.

It's ludicrous, out of control, and the stores know exactly what's coming every year and then innocently hold their hands up like "ohhhh extra security, what's that?"

I'm sorry it's spreading.
